When visiting family for Thanksgiving isn’t possible, we love the chance to sit down, be grateful, and enjoy an evening with our closest friends, ample food and good wine! If you’re hosting your friend group’s turkey celebrations this year, check out these tips to make it the best Friendsgiving ever:

Be Picky with Potluck

No matter how good of cooks your friends may be, you don’t want to get stuck with a Friendsgiving dinner made entirely of multiple green bean casseroles and pumpkin pies. When friends RSVP for your Friendsgiving party, have a list of appetizers, desserts, and sides you can ask them to provide. Check the list off as you go so your Friendsgiving table is full of a diverse array of delicious foods!

While providing your friends with some southern sweet tea, sodas or coffee is one thing, getting enough wine to keep all your friends happy during Friendsgiving dinner isn’t cheap. Instead, invite your guests to bring their favorite bottle of wine along with whatever dish they’re in charge off. That way, there’s plenty of booze to go around during the party and no one single person has to foot the bar bill!

Get down with decor

Bring the season’s festivities into every area of your home, not just the dining table! No Friendsgiving dinner is complete without enough leftovers to feed a small army! Unless you want to be eating leftover turkey and stuffing from now until the New Year, plan for leftovers for all your guests! If you’re worried about lending out your own Tupperware and never getting it back, you can order a set of disposable to-go containers online or grab some at the grocery store when you pick up the turkey!

Get your game on

The main event of the night might be the food, but dinner won’t last more than an hour or two! There’s plenty of hilarious group games such as What Do You Meme, Cards Against Humanity and Heads Up. Nothing helps digest a big meal better than rambunctious laughter as you create new inside jokes with your closest friends!
